How bottle jack sizing works
3/4 GVWR rule, 6/12/20 ton ladder, and jack-stand safety.
Shop bottle jack sizing
Enter vehicle GVWR. Get the minimum jack rating (GVWR × 0.75), then a 6 / 12 / 20 ton class (13,228 / 26,456 / 44,092 lb) — or NO_MATCH. Always use jack stands.
Required ≈ GVWR × 0.75 (same 3/4 screening rule as FloorJack; bottle ladder is higher for trucks). Classes: 6 ton = 13,228 lb · 12 ton = 26,456 lb · 20 ton = 44,092 lb. Above 44,092 lb → NO_MATCH. A jack lifts; jack stands hold. Never work under a jack alone — confirm lift points and min/max height.
